The staff, both the cleaner and receptionist, were really friendly and helpful. The hostel was always kept super clean. The location was mind-blowing, with the island being beautiful and the city center easily accessible by a nice ferry ride. The common spaces were spacious and well-equipped, including a great kitchen. The sheets were fresh and the bed was really comfortable. Don't miss the jaw-dropping sunset from the ferry pier in the summer evenings. The neighborhood of Suomenlinna is a really cool and strategic place to unwind, especially in the quieter winter months. The facility itself was cozy and functional. The free gingerbread cookies and fruit were a super nice touch. The wi-fi connection was great too.

I loved the location being in Suomenlinna - because its so beautiful and the best part of my trip to Helsinki. Although you have to take the ferry to island everyday, its not too bad because its very regular and inexpensive. The island is beautiful, and my whole family loved it, thankfully we had good weather I guess. The hostel is located very near the ferry terminal, so there was no problem there at all - very good.
Not enough bath areas. There is only one bath cubicle per toilet per gender per floor - meaning about 2 per gender.

Hostel situated on an island - Suomenlinna. There're a lot of interesting places to see: differen museums, small cafes, lovely places for rest on the shore, in the evenings - beautiful sunsets. But, sure, you should also pay for the ferry - but it's just 4 euro both ways (to Helsinki). Rooms are very clean and nice, hot working shower! (not usual for hostels ;). One small inconvinience - evening ends very late, because Suomenlinna is a very wellknown place (a lot of tourists and inhabitants) and morning begins at 7 (in my case it was a tractor :)). But I still think it is really nice place to stay :)
I suppose it's better to add some fruits into the breakfast

The hostel had a cozy and decorative ambiance that made me feel right at home. The common areas, such as the living room and kitchen, were easily accessible for senior people like myself. The beautiful garden surrounding the hostel provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
I would have appreciated a bit more assistance from the staff in planning activities and sightseeing options suitable for senior guests.

Great place for those who are tired of city life. The hostel is located on the beautiful island that was once a fortress. The atmosphere of the last century and comfort. Nature, sea, rocks. We had a great weekend! The friendly staff is always ready to help.
